Bring Vietnamese Coffee Expertise to Your Brand
Focus on building your coffee business while we handle roasting production. Collaborative profile development, consistent quality monitoring, and flexible batch sizes—without the capital investment in equipment.
Back to HomeWhat Contract Roasting Enables
You'll have access to professional roasting capability and Vietnamese coffee knowledge without the overhead of equipment purchase, facility maintenance, or full-time roasting staff. This allows you to test markets, launch products, or expand offerings while maintaining flexibility in your business model.
Lower Entry Barriers
Launch or expand your Vietnamese coffee offerings without significant equipment investment or facility commitments.
Quality Consistency
Maintain your intended roast profiles across batches with regular quality monitoring and cupping feedback.
Scalable Production
Grow from test batches to regular production as your business develops, with batch sizes from 10kg to 500kg.
The Equipment Investment Dilemma
You want to offer Vietnamese coffee as part of your product lineup. Perhaps you're launching a subscription service, expanding an existing café's wholesale offerings, or testing a new market segment. The coffee concept is clear in your mind—what's less clear is whether investing in roasting equipment makes sense at this stage.
Commercial roasters represent significant capital outlay, require dedicated space, demand ongoing maintenance, and need experienced operators. Even small-batch roasters cost tens of thousands of dollars before considering installation, ventilation, and regulatory compliance. For emerging brands or businesses testing Vietnamese coffee viability, this investment feels premature.
Working with conventional contract roasters presents its own challenges. Many have minimum batch requirements that exceed your immediate needs. Few specialize in Vietnamese coffee or understand the specific profile development considerations for Robusta or Vietnamese-grown Arabica. Quality consistency varies, and some operations treat contract roasting as secondary to their own brands.
You need production capability that scales with your business rather than forcing premature growth. Equipment flexibility to accommodate profile development without owning multiple roasters. Vietnamese coffee expertise rather than generic contract roasting. All while maintaining the quality control that protects your brand reputation.
Production Partnership Approach
We provide roasting services specifically designed for brands working with Vietnamese coffee. Our facility, equipment range, and Vietnamese coffee knowledge support your production needs while you maintain focus on brand building and market development.
Equipment Versatility
Our facility includes both drum and fluid bed roasters in various sizes, allowing us to accommodate different profile requirements and batch volumes. This equipment diversity means we can match roasting method to your coffee's specific needs rather than forcing all profiles onto a single machine type.
Profile Collaboration
Profile development happens as a conversation. You describe the characteristics you're targeting, we suggest approaches based on the specific coffee and our experience with Vietnamese varieties, then we refine together through sampling and cupping feedback until achieving your intended result.
Quality Monitoring
Each batch undergoes quality checks before shipment. We maintain detailed roasting logs, conduct regular cupping sessions, and track consistency across production runs. If quality drifts from established standards, we communicate this immediately and work with you to address it.
Flexible Fulfillment
We can ship roasted coffee to you for packaging and distribution, or handle packaging here if preferred. Batch scheduling accommodates both regular production calendars and more sporadic needs. Minimum orders start at 50kg, allowing reasonable entry points for testing or smaller programs.
How the Partnership Works
Working relationships develop through initial profile creation followed by regular production cycles. Here's what you can expect throughout the process.
Initial Consultation
We discuss your coffee concept, target market, volume projections, and quality expectations. Understanding your brand positioning helps us determine whether contract roasting fits your needs and suggest appropriate approaches to profile development.
Green Coffee Selection
If you haven't already sourced green beans, we can connect you with appropriate Vietnamese coffees through our network. Alternatively, you can ship us green coffee you've sourced independently. We evaluate the beans and discuss realistic profile possibilities based on their characteristics.
Profile Development
We roast test batches exploring different approaches—varied development times, temperature curves, finishing strategies. You receive samples of each variation for evaluation. Through iterative feedback, we converge on the profile that achieves your target characteristics. This typically requires three to five test roast cycles.
Production Batches
Once the profile is established, we move to production roasting. You schedule batches based on your needs—weekly, monthly, or more sporadically. We maintain detailed records of roast parameters and conduct quality checks before shipping. Each batch includes cupping notes for your reference.
Ongoing Communication
We schedule regular check-ins to discuss quality, address any concerns, and adjust as needed. If you notice profile drift or want to refine characteristics, we work together to resolve issues. As your volume grows or needs change, we adapt our production approach accordingly.
Transition Options
Some brands use contract roasting as their permanent production model. Others transition to in-house roasting once volume justifies equipment investment. We support either path, providing roast profile documentation if you eventually move production internally.
Pricing Structure
What's Included
Additional Considerations
This per-kilogram rate covers the roasting service itself. Green coffee cost is separate—you either source beans independently and ship them to us, or we can facilitate green coffee purchases through our network at prevailing market rates. Shipping of roasted coffee to your location is additional and varies based on destination and volume.
Profile development typically requires three to five test roast cycles. We charge the standard per-kilogram rate for test batches, with each test usually involving 5-10kg. This means profile development costs approximately $210-$700 USD depending on complexity and iterations needed.
Volume discounts apply for regular clients with monthly orders exceeding 200kg. Custom packaging, labeling services, and special handling requirements can be accommodated at additional cost. We provide detailed quotes based on your specific needs.
Service Reliability and Quality Standards
Our contract roasting approach emphasizes consistency and communication. Here's what you can expect realistically in terms of quality, timing, and partnership dynamics.
Consistency Standards
We maintain roast profile consistency through detailed logging and regular quality checks. Batch-to-batch variation exists in all coffee roasting—our target is keeping this within ranges that don't significantly affect cup quality. We use colorimetry and cupping to verify consistency.
If green coffee characteristics change seasonally or between lots, we communicate this and adjust roast parameters to maintain the target profile as closely as possible. Sometimes this requires your input on acceptable trade-offs.
Production Scheduling
We typically need five to seven business days lead time for standard production batches. Rush orders can sometimes be accommodated with shorter notice, though this depends on current production queue and staff availability.
For clients with regular monthly orders, we can establish standing production schedules that simplify coordination. Seasonal volume fluctuations are normal and manageable with advance communication.
Facility Capabilities
Our equipment accommodates batch sizes from 10kg minimum to 500kg maximum. Drum roasters suit most profile development needs, while fluid bed roasters work well for specific applications. We help determine which equipment best suits your coffee and intended profile.
The facility operates under HACCP protocols and maintains current health certifications. We can provide documentation for your quality assurance requirements or customer audits.
Vietnamese Coffee Specialization
Our experience specifically with Vietnamese Robusta and Vietnamese-grown Arabica informs our roasting approach. We understand common challenges—high-density Robusta requiring extended development, elevation-specific Arabica characteristics, traditional versus modern processing impacts on roast behavior.
This specialization means we can often anticipate issues and suggest solutions based on experience rather than trial-and-error learning on your coffee.
Partnership Commitments
We structure contract roasting relationships around mutual benefit and clear communication. These commitments guide how we work with partner brands.
Profile Accuracy
We maintain your established roast profile across batches. If quality drifts outside acceptable ranges, we notify you immediately and address the issue before shipping.
Scheduling Reliability
Once we commit to a production date, we meet that timeline or communicate any delays as soon as they're identified. Your planning depends on our reliability.
Confidentiality
Your roast profiles, sourcing relationships, and business information remain confidential. We never share proprietary details with other clients or outside parties.
Trial Production Option
Before committing to regular production, you can evaluate our service through a trial batch. This allows you to assess our roasting quality, communication style, and overall partnership fit with minimal commitment. Many clients begin with a single 50kg batch as a practical test of the working relationship.
